About
Caleb Delnay is a web developer native to West Michigan. He has a passionate interest in front end standards based development with cutting edge and emerging web technologies. A Venn diagram of his background would display a broad swath of computer technology, such as web development, system administration, and network design. He fuels his love for learning through the exploration of technology, science, and writing. His other interests revolve around astronomy, physics, music, cinema, and sociology.
I've entrenched myself in the world of computer technology since my youngest days. It's an area with unlimited challenges that always harbors another gem of knowledge to be absorbed.
My primary area of expertise is front end web development. This includes technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML and an intimate understanding of their interconnectedness. I focus heavily on standards based development and cross browser support.
Great development requires more than expertise in the aforementioned technologies. They are only the highest level of a stack that includes protocols, servers, hardware, and more. I work across the entire web architecture stack, from the bottom level server and network hardware, through the operating system and service software, up to the dynamically assembled string of characters that conforms to HTML standards which is transferred, via TCP, to the end user and rendered by their browser.
It's an area that is evolving rapidly. Innovations are happening every day. It never ceases to surprise and amaze me.
